A small insight into what we firmly believe …

Ecologically sustainable production processes play a significant role here at Melter’s. For over a decade we have been one of the leading manufacturers in our field of business.

Protection of the environment

Our print production processes are all alcohol-free, i.e. our processes do not contain isopropyl alcohol, for significant environmental safety and protection. In this sense we are and always have been one of the first production concerns in Germany to install reel-fed offset processes.

As you can view under our certifications section we are certified both by the FSC® and as a Climate-Partner.

We implement a renewable resource thermal post-combustion system for environmental contamination control of the raw gas concentrations incurring in the floating web dryer during the heat set processes.

The solvents contained in the inks are recycled for thermal post combustion system temperature maintenance.

Energy saving

The heat-exchanger units implemented in heat set drying provide heating for the overall administration, management and production facilities, as well as the general hot-water supply requirements. Additional heating or hot-water production facilities are therefore not required, which results in significant energy savings.

Through paper exhaustion heat-recirculation processes, the heat generated by the waste paper exhaustion units during production is channelled back into the facilities implementing the most modern technology and systems.

We have also installed a 150 kW roof-top photovoltaic plant.

A closed-cycle cooling system prevents any energy losses from occurring.

Waste-product prevention

Modern, automatic colour density controllers enable us to significantly minimise paper waste. We additionally implement a fine-separation process – meaning that paper waste is separated according to whether it is cut paper or paper sheets, printed or unprinted. Special materials such as films, labels and coated paper are processed separately.

The multiple uses we make of our paper roll cores are also a significant environmental protection factor, through which 10,000 roll cores are saved on a yearly basis.

All cleaning materials in use by the Melter Group of companies, particularly those implemented for technical uses, are biodegradable. In addition, at Melter’s we use only environmentally friendly solvents.
